Imperial Cities Tour + High and Middle Atlas
Experience Morocco’s rich history and stunning landscapes in 11 days. From Marrakech to Fez, Volubilis,
and the Atlas Mountains, enjoy guided visits, scenic drives, and authentic cultural experiences.
Day 1: Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech airport. Meet & greet by your MHA Travel & Tourism guide and transfer to the hotel or Riad.
(No lunch, visit, or activity on this day unless pre-arranged with an extra charge.)
Day 2: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Azilal – Bin El Ouidane Lake (211 km – 03h26) or Afourar – or Beni Mellal (239 km – 04h30)
Breakfast and departure to the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls, the most important and beautiful waterfalls in Morocco, approximately 100 m high, with water flowing all year round. Admire the Atlas monkeys among the local fruit and olive trees.
Continue to the town of Azilal. Lunch in a local restaurant, then continue along a mountain road towards Bin El Ouidane Lake. Arrival through the village of Afourar to reach Beni Mellal, our final destination. Check-in at the hotel.
(Possibility of 4* luxury accommodation at Bin El Ouidane on the lake or in Afourer depending on availability.
Day 3: Beni Mellal – Khénifra – Middle Atlas Cedar Forests – Azrou – Ifrane – Fez (288 km – 04h53) (347 km – 06h00)
Departure from Beni Mellal, crossing the Tadla plain and the Middle Atlas mountains. Entering the Middle Atlas, we drive through beautiful villages and charming towns: Khénifra, Azrou, Ifrane, and Imouzzer Kandar.
Lunch in a restaurant in Khénifra or Azrou or Ifrane, then continue to Fez. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 4: Fez
Breakfast, then begin the discovery of the charming city of Fez and its centuries-old culture. Explore the spiritual capital of Morocco: mosques, museums, Koranic schools, the ancient medina streets, palaces, and especially the Moulay Idriss II Mausoleum.
Guided tour with a local Fez guide. Lunch in a beautiful palace in the Fez Medina. Return to the hotel.
Day 5: Fez – Volubilis – Meknes (115 km – 02h15)
Departure from Fez to visit Volubilis, the renowned Roman
archaeological site, then the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun,
the holy town perched on the mountainside. Continue to Meknes.
Lunch in a palace in Meknes. City tour of Meknes: Moulay Ismail
Mausoleum, the mosque, Moulay Ismail’s prison, the museum,
Bab Mansour Laaleuj, city walls, medina, Lahri, the nearby basin,
Lahdim Square.
We will reach Rabat by mid-afternoon for a visit: Mohamed V
Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace, and Oudaya Kasbah.
Departure to Casablanca. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 6: Meknes – Rabat – Casablanca (238 km – 03h00)
Departure from Meknes to Rabat, administrative capital of Morocco and seat of the Government. Visit Mohamed V Mausoleum, Hassan Tower, Royal Palace, and Oudaya Kasbah.
Continue to Casablanca. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 7: Casablanca
Breakfast and historical city tour of Morocco’s economic capital. Discover the beautiful Art Deco districts, Habous quarter, Arab League Park, the Corniche, Hassan II Mosque, and Morocco Mall.
Lunch in Casablanca. Return to hotel.
Day 8: Casablanca – Marrakech (244 km – 02h58)
Breakfast and departure to Marrakech. Check-in at the hotel.
Day 9: Marrakech (100 km)
Full day dedicated to visiting the Ochre City and discovering its historical, cultural, and artistic treasures.
Visit the Menara Gardens, then the historical monuments: Saadian Tombs, Kasbah Mosque, Koutoubia Mosque, El Badi Palace, Bahia Palace, and finally the famous souks with their various quarters.
(Possibility of visiting Majorelle Gardens — reservation required online.)
Return to the hotel.
Day 10: Marrakech – // ------
Breakfast. Free time or optional excursion: Ourika Valley, Imlil, Asni, Oukaïmeden, etc.
Day 11: Marrakech – // ------
Breakfast and transfer to the airport according to flight schedule.
(No lunch, visit, or activity unless pre-arranged with extra charge.)
